Robert’s Quick and Easy Tangy Apple Sauce

Now apples are ripe on the trees, here’s a recipe for you to try.  A perfect accompaniment to porky roasts or BBQs. 15 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients:

3 or 4 Eating Apples

Plenty of sage, a little mint, parsley to taste

2.5cm piece of fresh ginger, peeled

1 clove garlic

Juice of 2 lemons

1 chilli (or more if you prefer)

Salt to taste

Sugar / Honey to taste

Instructions: 

Core and roughly chop the apples.  Except for the salt and sugar, put all ingredients (start with just a little mint – you can always add more later) into a blender and blitz until smooth.

Taste and adjust seasoning, don’t make it too sweet – keep it tangy!
