A combination of original features, (beams and chalk-block walls) with contemporary styling and modern facilities, (underfloor heating and fibre-to-premises wifi). In a tranquil conservation village, with an award-winning pub in walking distance, it’s an idyllic location – rural Britain at its best.

Offering great flexibility, you can book the property with 2, 3 or 4 super-king en-suite bedrooms.
How does that work?
(1) The Chalk Barn: a spacious self-contained conversion with 2 en-suite super-king bedrooms, plus a well-equipped kitchen diner and comfortable lounge all on ground level.
(2) East and West Cowes: 2 more equal-quality en-suite super-king bedrooms are available in a separate barn across the yard accessed up a small flight of steps. So, if you need 3 or 4 bedrooms, book one or both of these suites as well.
All four bedrooms have vaulted ceilings, super-king beds with Egyptian cotton bed linen, stunning en-suite bath and/or shower rooms

Electric vehicle charging is available on request (chargeable) and a helicopter landing field is also available if required.

Buttle Farm
We had a wonderful stay at Buttle Farm in October 2021 to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday.
Sara was so helpful with my booking, communication was excellent and she provided us with extensive details about the barns, equipment supplied and details on local attractions/interests which made planning our time away so easy.
The accommodation was stunning, spotless and immaculately presented. Would thoroughly recommend

Excellent location sufficiently away from London and served by both A4 and M4.
Compton Bassett a delightful little village - with a great pub.
Plenty of places to visit in easy reach - Laycock, Castle Combe Bowood and Great Chalfield Manor (Christmas markets) all excellent. Walking opportunities aplenty
Property was extremely well appointed and eco friendly. Website pictures almost understated the quality of the accommodation.
And neighbours (owners) were great.

Perfect in every way - highly recommended
What an amazing weekend we have just had at the Buttle Farm Barn ... we really cannot recommend it enough. The barn is stunning with lovely rooms, comfy big beds & special touches + everything spotlessly clean.
Sara was the perfect host with great knowledge of the area. You can't fault the location for time spent at the barn, lovely nearby walks and not far from a great pub which serves lovely food.

Absolutely fabulous
Everything about this place was amazing.
Great location with fabulous local pub The White Horse (walkable), and ideal for walking/relaxing with lots of nearby lovely places to visit/shop including Marlborough, Chippenham, Calne and the iconic Wiltshire White Horses carved into the hillsides.
Sara was a fantastic host, and the accommodation was very spacious and well equipped with quality bedding, towels, cutlery, crockery etc making it a perfect place to unwind.
I booked Buttle Farm for a special occasion and on recommendation from Sara, hired a private chef who produced the most amazing 3 course dinner on the Saturday evening, which was all home-made and reasonably priced. I could certainly recommend him and Rick Steins restaurant in Marlborough where we had a fabulous dinner on the Sunday evening.
The only downside (maybe for some) was that the Wi-Fi/TV connection was temperamental; we however saw this as a bonus because all we wanted was to get away from it all and have fun as friends who have not been able to get together for a long time.

A very special place
We spent a week in the Chalk Barn and can’t fault it in any way - spacious and beautiful bedrooms luxuriously furnished, really well equipped kitchen and living room and bathrooms to die for. Plenty of space to spread out, relax, recharge.
Our hosts were welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. It’s set in beautiful countryside with easy access to the pub in the village and plenty of walks straight from the front door, as well as lots of places of interest nearby to visit.
It’s pretty much the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in, we absolutely loved it and will definitely come again.

Bliss in a Barn
The best time I've had in over a year! The level of consideration gone into these restored barns is incredible. Heated floors, walk-in showers, windows with beautiful views of the countryside, easy to use coffee machines, it's got it all. You can have complete privacy if you desire, or use the multiple social spaces to enjoy whatever company you've brought with you.
We were invited to make sausages with Robert, and gave it our best try! Robert and Sara's knowledge of the local area is unparalleled, and told us all sorts about the region. Just a magical time.

I cannot rate Buttle Farm highly enough. The photos don’t do it justice. Accommodation, setting and friendly hosts all score 10/10. Great walks and a local pub… couldn’t have asked for more. We will be back!

Sympathetically restored barns with all mod cons and an eye to a green future with a biomass boiler keeping the underfloor heating at a gently warm temperature. Kitchen was spacious and fully equipped, such that I could easily prepare a dinner for a "family" of 8.
The bedrooms were enormous with big windows to allow full light and each one was ensuite to a newly designed large bathroom. What bliss for all family members.

Just a ‘Wonderful Gem!’
From the moment the 8 of us arrived at Buttles Farm we were overawed by the fabulous accommodation!
Each bedroom was large with spacious bathroom en-suite and ‘Cowshed’ accessories, both beautifully appointed and every thought given to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
The open plan kitchen in the main house was fabulous and Sarah had thought of every item we might need to make a meal! Including a coffee machine and pods, fruit and nuts!
The lounge was homely, warm and cosy with an amazing modern wood pellet burning fire.
TV’s in every room.
The other two en-suite rooms were a short walk from the house with exactly the same beautiful rooms. Each room having tea/coffee making facilities and fridges with milk etc.
They were wonderful hosts.
We had the most amazing New Years Eve staying two nights.
We didn’t get to feed the pigs on this trip.
A brilliant lunch in the local pub The White Horse’ a ten minute walk away and a drive round the local towns including a lovely lunch in ‘Divines’ a cute tea shop serving lunch.
Buttles Farm was a fabulous experience, and very highly recommended!
We WILL be back!

Superb time at Buttle Farm
We had a wonderful weekend at Buttle Farm for a belated birthday gathering. More than enough room in the wonderful kitchen and lounge areas and were blown away by the luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms. It’s a lovely area to visit and we were very impressed by the fabulous meal we had at the White Horse (village pub). All in all, a wonderful time in a lovely location.

Excellent accommodation
A group of 8 of us spent a great weekend at Buttle Farm. The accommodation was amazing; everything was spotlessly clean and luxurious. The level of finish and attention to detail is one of the best we have experienced. The cottage contained everything you could possibly need and more in terms of cooking and kitchen equipment. The bathrooms were beautiful and supplied with a high-end range of toiletries.

Fabulous stay in a great location
The space is beautiful and perfect for our post lockdown celebrations. The rooms are all beautiful and the views from the outdoor area stunning. We had the most lovely walk to Avebury and back as well as meals in every outdoor space at the farm. The village is adorable, the farm is wonderfully renovated and the location is fantastic. We could not have asked for a better Airbnb! It exceeded all our expectations!!!! I will 100% come back.

Impossible to fault. Beautiful property in a gorgeous location. Ideal for exploring Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Incredibly clean, wonderfully stylish and comfortable accommodation. The beds are divine! The bedrooms are huge! The kitchen is incredibly well equipped. The bathrooms are perfect. Sara is a great host, with nothing seeming to be too much trouble. Make sure you go and say “hi” to the fabulous “rare breed” pigs during feeding time with Sara. (Although you may feel guilty having a bacon sandwich for breakfast!)
